MOBILE ENTERTAINMENT TO THE MAX

Clarion is going places with its colossal roadshow

Clarion GB has taken to the road in a biggest ever way in the shape of a purpose-designed roadshow that has delivered all-action, full-on entertainment at the UK's top modified car shows and club events. That's included the ground-shaking Max Power Live show at the NEC, the mega-star Donny South show, plus all-action TRAX, Weston Wheels and the new clubbing /modded car fiesta, Hot Import Nights, showcased for the first time at Earls Court, London.

International designer, John Camm, was commissioned to create the dramatic 'shards of sound' livery for the mighty 45ft rig - appropriately dubbed 'Colossus' - which projects Clarion's blazing 2004/5 mobile entertainment range to the power-hungry show visitors.

A salvo of specially-made demonstration modules in the rig's public demo zone includes the DXZ948RMP radio/CD combination, the world's first-ever 'Active MatriX' single DIN sized, touch-screen audio head unit.

Already an international award-winner, this audio flagship has just beaten all-comers in the UK to the 'Best Innovation' honours in Total Car Audio magazine's 2004 Awards. It takes pride of place on the Clarion rig, alongside the remainder of the audio head unit range, plus hot new multimedia, satellite navigation, speakers and accessories.

The mighty crowd-pleaser, rigged to the latest MAN sleeper cab, also features a fold-down stage, which wows the crowds with full on, all-girl dance routines with Clarion's dance group and resident DJ.

But the on-stage action is not the only eye-opener. Surrounding the rig at every event, and further demonstrating Clarion's arsenal of audio-visual entertainment, has been a bevy of Clarion show cars including the outrageous, mega-installed Suzuki Wagon R 'bling bus', which has proved a real attention grabber with its mega multimedia install.

The roadshow is aimed fair and square at the modified car-crazy youth sector, to whom entertainment is the name of the game. The rig's eye-scorching stage lighting arsenal and ear-popping PA system, with mixer, CD and vinyl decks, provides the red hot nucleus for the all-action stage routines provided by the girls.

Commenting on the Colossus premiere, at the NEC's Max Power Live show, Graham Case, Clarion GB aftermarket General Manager, said: "We are generating fantastic response and massive levels of interest. It's all about making a big impression, and showing our consumers what mobile entertainment really means.'

Plans are well advanced for an even bigger, MORE colossal Clarion roadshow in 2005, which will be reviewed regularly on this site, with a calendar of forthcoming events.
