microSD Card Slot for Updates
Navigation map updates can be imported into the system through the microSD Card Slot. Just access the Clarion portal site using your PC, save data to a microSD card and insert it into the card slot on the front of the NX503E.

Owners can download the latest map data from our dedicated web portal. The first download is free of charge, providing it is done within 30 days of the product receiving its first GPS signal.This guarantees that you will be using the most up-to-date map data available for route planning and guidance.

“Vocal Image Control” reproduces dynamic vocals and real sound staging
When listening to music in your car, you may want to position the vocals in front of the driver’s seat or in the middle of the dashboard, depending on personal preference. Vocal Image Control extracts the mid-range frequencies in the centre of the source material, where vocal elements are recorded, and balances the volume to acoustically “move” the sound image of the vocals in any direction, closer or farther, to the left or to the right. Without adversely affecting sound quality or depth of presence, it allows you to adjust the location of vocals the way you like.

“Sound Restorer” restores lost signal elements to compressed audio
During the encoding process of compressed audio data such as MP3 and WMA files, high-frequency sound elements are lost in exchange for reduced data size. Sound Restorer is a technology that restores these high-frequency sound elements to attain results nearly identical to the original before compression, thereby providing richer audio quality during playback.

“Virtual Bass” delivers powerful lows just like an add-on subwoofer
Small speakers tend to reproduce sound that is lacking in bass performance due to their size constraints.
Virtual Bass is a technology based on acousticopsychology, in which harmonic elements of low bass sound are added to the signal to reinforce the low range the speaker cannot physically reproduce. The listener hears powerful bass almost like a subwoofer has been added, even from just small speakers.

“Volume Smoother” automatically adjusts the volume
As music media and content diversifies and people play files acquired from various sources, they wind up having to frequently adjust the volume to compensate for differences in recording levels. Volume Smoother automatically adjusts to the optimum volume level in a wide range of situations, like when transitioning from one tune to another or from a TV programme to a commercial. There is also a function to adjust volume in accordance with vehicle speed to overcome road noise and relieve the driver from having to adjust it himself, contributing to safer driving.
